Well plaid! Congratulations to the amazing Kiltwalkers Well done to everyone who took part in the annual Kiltwalk, especially Greenbelt’s very own Managing Director, Colin Thomson, who tackled The Mighty Stride leg: a 22.7-mile trek from Glasgow Green to the finish line at Balloch by Loch Lomond. Taking part in memory of their lifelong friend Eileen, Colin and Gillian were joined by Eileen’s husband and many of her closest friends. All of the Kiltwalk crew donned tartan and braved the epic walk to raise funds for The Ayrshire Hospice, whose dedicated team of professionals provided palliative care and support for Eileen and her family. Colin said: “I’d like to say many thanks to everyone who took part on the day. It was tough but it was also lots of fun... and it was certainly worth every step. “My heartfelt thanks also go to all those who have donated to our Walking On Sunshine fundraiser for Ayrshire Hospice in memory of Eileen. “Your incredible generosity and unstinting support are very much appreciated.” Greenbelt was delighted to donate £500 and, with cash pledged by hundreds of friends and colleagues, so far the Kiltwalk adventure has raised over £7,000 and still going! Ayrshire Hospice has been the sole provider of specialist palliative care across Ayrshire and Arran for more than 30 years. It costs £22,000 a day to run the facility, which amounts to around £8 million a year, with two thirds coming entirely through voluntary donations. You can still support this marvellous cause by donating easily and securely on this Just Giving page.
